MUA
I have been fortunate enough to create makeup looks for a huge amount of queer celebrities and musicians, for red carpet, album covers, coffee table books and editorials. My work has been featured in Italian Vogue, W Magazine, Dazed and Confused Magazine, Elle Magazine, Nylon, POP, Glamour, to name a few. I have created looks for multiple beauty and fashion brands, television and digital events. I have participated in interviews and digital content for Vogue, Marie Claire, Elle. I have been shot and created makeup looks for Mert and Marcus, Mariano Vivanco, Greg Bailey, Louie Banks, Roger Spy, Sam Bayliss-Ibram, Gozra Lozano and featured in exhibits for Rankin etc. My first appearance in LFW was when I was 15 and I did my own makeup, in 2006.
I have created thought provoking imagery from gender transformations that have become collectible artwork, to tattoos, to being discussed on French television. I created celebrity transformations in digital media and had a weekly magazine deal in the UK, Now Magazine. I produced a protest piece in 2015 about transformation and transgender people when I created a male presenting elderly prosthetic, to use as a reveal to myself in my feminine gender expression, to bring attention to the trauma faced by trans people not being able to express themselves. My work is both accessible and articulate, I have a unique point of view and my signatures are contouring and skin.
My inspiration as a makeup artist started when I found the ‘skin’ files in the Sims video games, I could see that there was a 3d shape, and this flat image wrapped around the 3d shape and the features became more dimensional. I mimicked what I saw on the ‘skins’ onto my face, and merged my understanding of tech with my creativity as a makeup artist. I used webcams and a mirror to compare symmetry, my hair colour and green screen technology to change colourations, and then black and white scaling to understand depth of shade. I played with after production editing to learn colour theory, and I combine tech with beauty. I sit on advisory boards for AI tech companies and have produced a digital makeup series for LFW with Dell.
